Brownfields

A community meeting to discuss the development of the Spa Road Property was held on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026. Meeting minutes are available upon request. Public comments on the draft Brownfields Grant Application and draft Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives were collected until January 20th, 2026. These comments were incorporated into the grant application, which was submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on January 28th, 2026. The grant application requested a total of $4 million to support cleanup and redevelopment of the property for mixed use residential and commercial infrastructure.

The respective parties were notified on June 24, 2026 that the Resilience Authority of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County was selected as one of the entities to begin negotiations with EPA to award an agreement for a cleanup grant.
